At BE BOLD, we understand that history is not only remembered\u2014it is communicated. For Kwibohora 31, we joined the commemoration by translating Rwanda\u2019s liberation journey into a compelling social media carousel that would educate, inspire, and engage a digital audience.

Our approach began with clarity of concept: \u201cFive Defining Moments of the Liberation Struggle.\u201d Rather than presenting a dense historical timeline, we structured the narrative into digestible, visually driven slides that guide audiences step by step\u2014from exile and exclusion, to resistance, to rebuilding, and finally to Rwanda\u2019s present-day ambition.

The first slide anchors the series in purpose. Featuring a powerful quote from H.E. President Paul Kagame and a strong call to action, it positions the audience\u2014particularly the liberation generation\u2014as active participants in the country\u2019s ongoing journey. This framing was intentional. Kwibohora is not only about remembering July 4, 1994; it is about recognizing responsibility today.

From there, the carousel traces the origins of the liberation struggle: the exclusion of Rwandans following 1959, the formation of the RPF\/A in 1987, and the launch of the struggle in 1990. Each slide balances concise historical context with powerful imagery, ensuring that complex events remain accessible to younger digital audiences.

We then addressed one of the most sensitive chapters in Rwanda\u2019s history: the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. Our storytelling emphasized accuracy, dignity, and clarity\u2014highlighting the Arusha Peace Accords, the planned execution of genocide, and the decisive role of the RPF\/A in stopping it. Visual sequencing was critical here, guiding viewers from negotiation to tragedy to liberation.

The rebuilding phase was crafted to demonstrate leadership in action. Through references to Gacaca courts, reintegration efforts, the removal of ethnic identifiers, and the call to the diaspora, the carousel shows how liberation extended beyond military victory into institutional and social transformation.

The final slides pivot toward measurable progress and ambition. Poverty reduction, increased life expectancy, and the Unity Barometer are presented not as statistics alone, but as evidence of a nation stabilized and thinking big. By concluding with Vision 2050, the narrative moves from reflection to forward momentum.

Throughout the process, BE BOLD focused on visual cohesion, concise copywriting, and narrative flow. Social media demands brevity without sacrificing substance. Each slide was designed to stand alone while contributing to a larger, cohesive story.
